Lazarus – My “Song of the Month” in December 2019

Jesus raised Lazarus from death, as it is written in the Gospel of John. When I produced this song, I inevitably had to think of the resurrection scene that Michael Pacher painted a few hundred years ago. The just awakened Lazarus lolls a bit to take a rather sitting position. A lot of people stand around him and look astonished at his still lifeless body. Lazarus looks up and says “Hey people… what are you all gugging about? You look like you just saw a dead man!”

But don’t worry, this song can’t awaken any living creatures from death. Unless they are buried in an old Indian cemetery. Alan Parson’s “Lucifer” doesn’t drive you out of the devil either. The Vatican is responsible for that!

“Lazarus” is a very melodic instrumental piece, with a nice analog lead sound. Through the use of two analog delays, it blends smoothly into the sound structure of the song.
The mood can best be described with the catchwords “relaxed” and “groovy”.

The speed is 93 bpm.
